Conveniently located to serve the areas of Miami and South Florida
A Hydrafacial® is an advanced facial that involves exfoliation, administering nourishing skin serums, and deep rehydration. This multi-step facial treatment allows clinicians to customize each session to suit varying skin sensitivities and issues. It only takes about 30 minutes to complete, making the Hydrafacial® the ideal treatment for those with busy schedules who want to attain a healthy, radiant glow with minimal commitment. Patients can incorporate monthly Hydrafacials as part of a more effective skincare routine that helps regenerate new collagen and elastin while combating enlarged pores and hyperpigmentation.

About the Hydrafacial®
Do you want healthier, brighter skin? Do you wish your skin was tighter and wrinkles were less apparent? Perhaps you have experienced sun damage and have brown spots on your face.
Hydrafacial® MD is a state-of-the-art hydradermabrasion tool that provides all the benefits of ablative treatments, but without the lasers, scraping, or redness associated with other procedures. The Hydrafacial® utilizes water to clean, exfoliate, extract, and hydrate.
This multi-step system reveals patients’ younger-looking complexion, giving them a more vibrant appearance that is often obscured by signs of aging. It can create immediate and long-lasting rejuvenation that improves tone and elasticity, reduces fine lines and wrinkles, and fights acne. By combining the Hydrafacial® device with invigorating serums deep into the skin, these treatments combat the source of aging at a deeper level. Patients can enjoy the look of their renewed skin with no irritation.
Hydrafacial® v.s. Microdermabrasion
Both Hydrafacial® and microdermabrasion remove dead skin cells, clear pores, and reveal vibrant, brighter skin. The main difference between HydraFacial® and microdermabrasion is that microdermabrasion uses tiny crystals to exfoliate the skin. HydraFacial®, on the other hand, uses water to exfoliate the skin. It also includes soothing ingredients, like hyaluronic acid, which attracts water to the skin. (1) The microspheres of this naturally occurring substance can bind to water molecules, adding up to 1,000 times the amount of its volume. It is capable of hydrating both the surface of the skin (stratum corneum) and the underlying dermis. (2)
Microdermabrasion, when performed by somebody inexperienced, has the potential to scratch and bruise the skin. This also makes it less than ideal for patients with highly sensitive skin. Since HydraFacial® is gentler, it is accessible for all skin types! Nonetheless, there is no harm in alternating between monthly microdermabrasion and HydraFacial® treatments if patients go to someone experienced in both procedures.
Good Candidates
Since the Hydrafacial® MD is such a versatile skin rejuvenation device, it can be beneficial for many different interested patients. It is okay to use on all skin types and tones. Even people with sensitive skin can reap the benefits of HydraFacial®! However, our providers will not perform the treatment for certain individuals. Those who have recently used Accutane to control their breakouts should wait at least 6 months after finishing the medication before considering a Hydrafacial®. This is because Accutane can thin the skin and make it more vulnerable to damage and scarring. Those who are pregnant or breastfeeding should also request to modify their treatment to include gentler solutions.
Benefits of the Hydrafacial®
Finding a solution for treating oil-prone skin, large pores, and discolorations has never been easier, but the treatment also boasts these benefits:
- It is a quick and easy treatment that only takes 30 minutes.
- There is no associated downtime, and it is non-irritating.
- It is a non-ablative, non-laser treatment, so it carries no risk of causing hyperpigmentation.
- Infused serums promote greater hydration within the skin.
- It is ideal for all skin types and sensitive skin.
- Sessions promote instant and long-term results.
- The exfoliating aspect of the treatment will not dry out the skin.
Personal Consultation
Dr. Rotemberg likes to meet personally with all of her clients before booking any services. It is during this time that she can get to know the patient and their cosmetic concerns.
She first asks the patient about what they are hoping to achieve from the treatment. She will also analyze the patient’s skin and take photographs for further analysis if necessary. Depending on her findings and the patient’s goals, she may recommend a series of HydraFacial® treatments or alternative or additional procedures. She will also be able to provide patients with cost estimates for their treatment plans.
At Rotemberg Plastic Surgery, we believe that skincare is a lifelong process and we want to be there to help every step of the way. Our relationship with our clients does not end after their treatment. We like to work with them to make sure they are always aware of the newest technology to keep their skin looking healthy and young.

Preparation
There is not much you will need to do to prepare for this relatively gentle treatment. In the days leading up to your session, you should keep your skin protected from sun damage and apply sunscreen daily. You should refrain from using exfoliating products for a few days before, and avoid any chemical peel or laser treatment at least 2 weeks beforehand. Finally, you should also avoid using depilatory, waxing, or bleaching products on the face.
Procedure
The HydraFacial® procedure requires no downtime and is a quick lunchtime treatment, so it is easy to replenish your skin even on the busiest of days. It uses patented 4-in-1 Vortex technology to provide patients with a comprehensive cleansing and exfoliation experience.
- Vortex cleansing and hydropeel exfoliation: The technician will go over the entire facial area with a tool that sucks up debris and removes excess makeup and dead skin cells.
- Acid peel: This gentle peel contains glycolic and salicylic acid to clear the skin of any bacteria that cause acne and oil buildup. These compounds, when combined, have been shown to effectively treat mild-to-moderate cystic and inflammatory acne. (3) Unlike other acid peels, it is practically painless.
- Vortex extraction: The Vortex extractor works better and more efficiently than manual extractions. It suctions out debris from the pores, which then collects the base of the machine.
- Vortex fusion: The finishing serum promotes hydration, better skin tone, and better elasticity and penetrates deep into the newly cleaned pores.
Hydrafacial® Serums
Dermabuilder Boost
Dermabuilder Boost is designed to further diminish the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. It also helps correct skin tone and texture. It is composed of acetyl octapeptide-3 and palmitoyl dipeptides-5. These skin conditioning peptides promote skin hydration and firmness. Plus, they help soothe inflamed skin.
Growth Factor Boost
Growth Factor Boost contains connective tissue growth factor, also called CTGF, to help turn back the clock on signs of facial aging. These naturally occurring proteins help regulate cellular growth. They promote healthy skin structure, which can smooth and soften fine lines and wrinkles.
Britenol Boost
Britenol Boost is designed to correct the appearance of sun damage and dark spots. It contains alpha-arbutin, which is derived from bearberry extract, and vitamin C. These ingredients show antioxidant properties, which promote skin brightening and reduce unwanted pigmentation.
Recovery and Results
Following the procedure, the face may appear slightly red, but most of our patients report that their skin looks immediately brighter and tighter. Patients may apply light, breathable makeup if they wish, but they refrain from washing their face for several hours to let the post-treatment serums soak in. Patients can return to their normal routines right away. Often, men and women will notice improved skin tone, texture, and appearance right away. Results typically last for about seven days. To achieve longer-lasting results and to have a greater impact on fine lines and wrinkles, they can schedule a series of treatments. Dr. Rotemberg is happy to work with patients on developing the best skin care regimen for their skin type.
Corresponding & Complementary Procedures
Microneedling
Depending on the patient’s circumstances, they may achieve optimal results from a series of treatments or alternative procedures, including microneedling. This treatment involves the use of a device that utilizes extremely fine needles to trigger deep collagen renewal.
Dermal Fillers
HydraFacial® can help minimize the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, including nasolabial folds, marionette lines, and vertical lip lines. However, dermal fillers are the most effective injectables for the reduction of these lines. At Rotemberg Plastic Surgery, we offer Juvederm, Radiesse, and Restylane – some of the most popular fillers on the market. Dermal fillers can furthermore add volume to the cheeks and lips when they have started to have a sunken appearance. However, fillers are not permanent and typically last between 4 to 12 months before patients will need to return for maintenance.
Botox
Botox is widely known for its ability to combat lines and wrinkles on the face including forehead lines, glabellar lines, and crow’s feet. It not only reduces the appearance of these lines and wrinkles in the short term, but it can also prevent the lines from worsening in the long term. It can also provide a temporary brow lift.
Botox typically lasts about 3 to 4 months before patients will need to come back in for new injections. However, over time, they may begin to require less and less product to attain their desired results.
